I got to work on a fun project that was a little tangential from my regular duties. Normally I work on algorithms that process large amounts of social network data. Today, however, I spent my time working on preparing a visualization (i.e., pretty picture) of some of the data I work with. This is only a small portion of one of the networks I work on. The actual network has hundreds of thousands of nodes. This one only has a few thousand.

Here’s an earlier version that shows only the topology, and omits the coloring and variable node sizing of the final version I sent off.
